Our story

AAB Architecture was founded out of a desire to create independent projects and bring global expertise to the Slovenian market. After years of working and researching architecture around the world, we wanted to introduce a modern, efficient, and innovation-driven approach to architectural management and design. In 2019, we started independently, with a clear goal: to create a studio that transcends local boundaries and expands into the international architectural space. The name AAB – Atelier Abroad has always embodied our vision of borderless architecture.

As our studio grew, we gradually built a team that now works on projects of various scales and complexities. A pivotal moment in expanding our architectural services came when Tjaša obtained her professional license, allowing us to handle administrative procedures, secure building permits, and manage larger projects in Slovenia. Entering international markets was a natural evolution, driven by years of travel, networking, and relationship-building—a process that continues to guide us in seeking new architectural challenges.

Today, we complement each other in running the company: Matic develops business opportunities, expands the client network, and oversees strategic company growth, while also contributing to architectural concepts for international projects. Tjaša manages operations, ensures regulatory compliance, obtains permits, and leads projects in Slovenia, while designing creative solutions based on clear and well-thought-out architectural principles.
